The reason why we get so excited about our candle grain...

We recommend using a vessel with a width of at least 9cm and leaving 5cm between every wick and 5cm from the side of the container.  

Your container will need to be non-combustible so glass, metal or ceramic and 

 maintain a safe distance between the melt pool and the edge of the container. This will prevent the container from heating up excessively.

Insert each wick into the candle sand leaving only 0.5 - 1cm showing above the sand.

If leaving out a longer end it will significantly reduce the burn time of the wick, as it will burn rapidly until it reaches the candle sand.

Following this method you should expect your wick to burn for around 10-12 hours before changing.

Light the wicks, put your feet up and enjoy the glorious ambiance.

Avoid moving the candle around once it's lit or the wax still hot..

If you have some of the wick left you have few options;

either place the solid wax block that has been formed around the wick, back into the sand, or for a more cleaner look insert the set wax into the sand upside down.  You can always replace the wick with a new one at any time.

The candle sand is provided fragrance-free to allow you to enjoy several candles being lit together, however if you would like to add a gentle aroma then just add a few drops of essential oil around the wick area BEFORE lighting the candle, or mix 3-6% of fragrance oil into the wax (this will however change the sand consistency as you will be adding moisture),

The scent will be more subtle and delicate than artificially scented candles so best suited to small places

Sand candles offer a higher level of safety compared to regular candles.  If they are tipped over they will self extinguish.

They will also self extinguish once the wick burns out.

Never leave a candle unattended and in reach of children or animals.
